Protecting the health and safety of workers, clients and customers is essential to ensure organizations can continue delivering services during this pandemic and beyond.  In this course, individuals will learn the proper use and disposal of personal protective equipment (PPE) to minimize the risk of infection and the spread of diseases. This course has been developed by the Canadian Red Cross with the latest in evidence-based science from the World Health Organization, Public Health Authority of Canada and the Centre for Evidence-Based Practice.

Debco Safety will be delivering this course for groups and organizations in a Virtual or In-Person format.

 

The Preventing Disease Transmission (PDT) course has been developed by the Canadian Red Cross to ensure organizations meet public health guidelines and is suitable for all audiences, including front-line workers, and those who work with vulnerable populations.

DELIVERY OPTIONS

Virtual, instructor-led format includes live demonstrations using teaching aids for groups of 8 or more.

In-person, instructor-led format includes live demonstrations while following public health guidelines and Red Cross best practices for in-person training.  Personal Protective Equipment will be available to all participants in the classroom and all safety protocols will be in place to ensure the safety of everyone.

COURSE CONTENT

The Red Cross Preventing Disease Transmission (PDT) course is a 45 minute course.

  • How Infection occurs and how it can be prevented
  • Proper use of (PPE) Personal Protective Equipment including donning and doffing a medical gown, a mask, protective eye wear and gloves
  • Learn how to safely secure, remove, and dispose a face mask
  • The different ways diseases are transmitted and the role of immunization

Add on to an existing booking such as CPR or First Aid courses.
